BOXofGREEN as a Rainwater Collector

We recently visited Tårnby to inspect the urban trees planted along a couple of residential streets just over a year ago. What’s special about this project is that beneath each tree, there are 10–12 BOXofGREEN batts installed underground.
These batts aren’t just there to provide moisture for the trees—they also function as rainwater collectors, since the street doesn’t have a stormwater drainage system.
As Claus Andersen explains in the video, the trees and the stone wool blocks are handling the water collection task very well.
And the trees? They’re growing as they should—healthy and thriving.
